A time of Festive Frivolities
Whilst it may seem that Christmas belongs to the distant past the Limesquare Christmas party deserves a mention as the merriment, good will and excellent cheer made for a night to remember.
Due to a busy Christmas period Limesquare staff celebrated the festive season on the 28th January 2012 with a night of bowling and good food at the Red Hot World Buffet in Northampton. With Limesquare taking up a large area of the bowling alley there was friendly team bonding and banter all-round, with glow sticks making for a fun spectacle for observers.
With depots in Swindon, Chertsey, Milton Keynes, Grantham and Peterborough, Northampton made the perfect middle meeting ground for the staff, who were more than happy to make the journey for a night out with fellow staff.
With Limesquare teams taking up six lanes at the Northampton Ten Pin Bowling Centre the competitive nature of certain staff became apparent, with both individuals and teams trying to take top position with the best scores. The more proficient bowlers understandably took the whole event more seriously, whilst the more casual players enjoyed the company and delighted in the occasional strike.
It soon became clear that there were only a few 'serious' bowlers amongst the general crowd, with gutter balls and splits a common sight. After the first game it was clear that there were only two real contenders for the winning place, as Anthony (our driver from Milton Keynes) and Gavin (our driver from Peterborough) battled it out for the top score.
After a nail biting second game in which the two drivers remained on a par throughout, Anthony emerged the victor by a slim margin to claim the title of Limesquare Bowling Champion. Congratulations also go to Gavin for a great game and coming Runner Up.
Lee Davies (Swindon Depot Manager) said of the evening "it was a great opportunity to get face to face with other branches within the group. I was surprised by who the competitive people really were!"
The night was a massive success enjoyed by everyone who came – the bowling was a fantastic laugh and the all you can eat buffet was a perfect way to complete a wonderful Christmas party.
From all the staff at Limesquare we would like to thank Maxine Warren for organising such a great evening and we hope all of our customers had a wonderful Christmas and New Year!
