3 Peaks Challenge - Limesquare donates Minibus for Charitable Event
Brothers Ryan and Daniel Lewis and friend James Holbrook, have completed the 3 Peaks 24 Hour Challenge with 40 minutes to spare!
The brothers took on the challenge to raise money for The Winnicott Foundation, which raises funds to improve care for premature and sick babies through supporting the neonatal units at St Mary's Hospital, Paddington and Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea Hospital, Hammersmith.
Ryan said, "This is a cause extremely close to my heart. In 2014, my nieces, Betty and Edie, were born 12 weeks early and without the incredible work of the staff at Queen Charlotte's and the support of The Winnicott Foundation, it is likely they wouldn't be here today." Limesquare Vehicle Rental donated a Vauxhall Vivaro 9 seat minibus for the duration of the challenge. The minibus allowed for all their kit to be transported with the addition of plenty of room so some much needed sleep could be grabbed in between climbs.
The 3 Peaks Challenge comprises of ascending and descending the highest mountains in Scotland (Ben Nevis 1345m), England (Scafell Pike 978m) and Wales (Mount Snowdon 1085m) in 24 hours. To complete the 24 hour challenge you must be very fit and ideally a designated driver (non climber) should be chosen as the 24 hour challenge only allows for sleep during the journey which separates the mountains.
So far the team has raised over £3,000.00, and they are hoping to raise even more! Ryan thanked Debbie O' Keefe at Limesquare Vehicle Rental for donating the minibus for the charitable event as well as his father Paul, who greatly supported the team as their designated driver.
