Team Limesquare completes Race for Life!
The sun was shining, the trainers had been dusted off and weeks of training were about to be all worthwhile as Team Limesquare prepared to attack the 10k Race for Life. In reality, yes the sun was shining and the trainers had been dusted off but the day started with a hearty breakfast and lots of coffee to wake us up.
The idea to enter a team into the Race for Life at Stamford was the brainchild of Debbie O'Keefe, Branch Manager of our Grantham depot. Debbie had completed the 5k race the previous 3 years along with friends and family after losing her elder brother to cancer and, after bullying her colleague Charlotte along with 4 other team mates a date was set, Sunday May 13th was D Day.
After setting off at a speedy rate of knots it was decided that a more leisurely pace should be adhered to as the sun was warm and the views around picturesque Burghley House were lovely. After a few little photo stops we crossed the finish line and enjoyed a much deserved cup cake and large bottle of water!
Race for Life is the UK's largest women-only fundraising event and it has made a huge impact on Cancer Research UK's work, so the Team at Grantham would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who sponsored them and to all you ladies...
