Belarusian Children Visit the UK
Limesquare Vehicle Rental were delighted to help out Susan Garfoot with a minibus for the Friends of Chernobyl's Children Charity which provides month long visits to the UK for disadvantaged children from Belarus.
Belarusian children, from poorer social backgrounds, receive trips to the UK where they stay with host families for temporary recuperative care. The children, from the badly contaminated areas of Belarus following the Chernobyl reactor meltdown, come for one month every year for five consecutive years, which has been shown to have a significant positive effect on their overall quality of life, happiness, health and well-being.
During their stay, the children take part in daily trips and activities that meet their social, health and educational needs. The children return to the same host family for up to five years where possible.
